Bronco hype is in full swing after Ford revealed the long-awaited sequel to the OG SUV back in July. But the Bronco isn't alone! Ford's longtime rival Chevrolet had their own SUV rehash in the Blazer over a year ago! But why didn't the Blazer create as big a splash? And why might that not matter? We're gonna find out.

I already saw the bronco at my local Ford dealer. It only comes in an inline 3 cylinder, I-4 and an Ecoboost 4. If you really push that bronco to the limits and tow things I promise you it won't last over 100k mi. The Chevy Colorado owner's are experiencing this. I love the way it looks though. I just wish they'd offer at least a 4 litre v6 or a V8 with a small block like a 4.6 or 5.0. they're making a limited supercharge V8 bronco raptor. But it's going to be priced at 200k.

As someone with a 2003 LT Trailblazer, they should've kept it the same. All the bells and whistles of a truck without it being an actual pick up truck. Don't fix what isn't broken.

I actually think this Chevys are going to be more successful. the reason is that even though they are not more dynamic and sporting than the Bronco, they are aimed at a much bigger market. They are meant to compete with vehicles like the Honda CR-V and the Honda HR-V, which are very popular and practical vehicles, and a much more successful segment (by sales numbers, right now) than extreme off-roading like the Jeep Wrangler. it's not like one of these is going to be more successful at the other's market, it's like they are aimed at different markets.

It does leave me wondering something about Ford. They knew the Pinto would catch fire, and they released it anyway. They knew the Bronco 2 would roll over easily, and they released it anyway. The new Blazer and Trail Blazer looks like every other crossover with floating contrasting roof and what not on the market. The Trail Blazer is a carbon copy of the Nissan Kicks. Shame on Chevrolet. They are not just boring, they are playing catch up with fads that started 3 years ago.
